La Forchetta ('the fork') has been a reliable Italian anchor in San José del Cabo's Zona Hotelera since 2012, owned and operated by Pablo who is regularly at the restaurant to greet guests personally. The kitchen stays true to Italian technique while letting Baja ingredients creep in: tuna carpaccio with chili oil and avocado, grilled octopus with chile guajillo, habanero-and-Italian-sausage pasta, and a chocolate sphere dessert that appears on nearly every table. Freshly made ravioli—lobster, lamb, corn with jalapeño pesto—are the kitchen's pride. Underground parking; live music on select nights.
